Microsoft Purchases Yammer

Today, Microsoft purchased the social networking start up, Yammer, in hope of gaining the edge in private social networks for companies. Essentially, Yammer allows for the creation of private social networks that only members of the funding company can access. Yammer, known as The Enterprise Social Network, allows employees to discuss projects, share and talk about files, and work together with coworkers. With their acquiring of this enterprise geared social network, Microsoft is likely to maintain dominance in the business sector.
